Seat of Appreciation

Seat of appreciation.
Beech wood 104cm x100cm
Inspired by Richardo Basbaum, the seat of appreciation is a tool that is used in a group setting to heal traumatic events that have led to fear, anxiety, depression and feelings of unworthiness.
Participants are asked to occupy it one by one and release old stuck energies from the body and energetic field. Those emotions that are trapped inside, by allowing the emotions to come onto the surface and releasing them while filling that space with love, positive thoughts and emotions.
This is done through appreciation from the other participants and all the good qualities of the person is shared this is done under supervision of an expert where the participants are asked to release swallowed past negative emotions that has so long been shoved inside. Those stuck emotions having not been allowed to run its course and act as a learning curve for the participants show up in the way we react to things in life

“As an African conceptual artist, in the contemporary sense, with a multi-disciplinary artistic practice, I employ different mediums and materials such as elephant dung, through the media of painting in a stylized form, FOTO collage, sculpting, film, performance and installations that are conceptually built. My work explores various topics including consciousness, spiritual science, meta-physics, self-development, critical thinking and identity: not limited to queer-feminist agenda. These question how we humans relate to the world around us, our connection to the universe, and what interventions we can take in the environment in order to live in harmony, within and without. Presenting subjects as variable as the effects of armed conflict, and self-leadership the art submits familiar visual signs“
